Bring some good cheer to a family this holiday season!





For a sixth year, United Way of Greater Cincinnati's Adopt-A-Family program will bring joy to deserving local families during the holidays. Many are kinship care families, in which children are temporarily cared for by relatives or family friends with close ties to a parent facing difficult circumstance. The arrangement lets parents focus on their situations, knowing their children are safe and well cared for.



Kinship caregivers take on this responsibility with little notice, often adding to the costs of food, clothing and other essentials to already stretched household budgets. During the holidays, those added expenses can make gifts and celebrations harder to afford.



Your support can help these families experience the joy and warmth of the holiday season.



Here's how to help:

1. Sign up by Oct. 30. Click the blue "Sign Up" button near the top right of the page and select "Adopt-A-Family Registration."
2. United Way will pair you with a family on a first come, first served basis, and provide a shopping list with suggested gift ideas no later than Monday Nov. 16.
3. Shop for your family. United Way suggests spending $75 on each family member, but volunteers can contribute gifts in an amount that best fits their budget.
4. Drop off your gifts at United Way (2400 Reading Road, Cincinnati, OH 45202):

• December 9, 8:30am to 5:00pm

• December 10, 8:30am to 5:00pm
• December 11, 8:30am to 5:00pm
• December 12, 9am to 1:00pm
